2. Remove the existing fixture: Unscrew and lower the old light fixture. Disconnect the wiring (typically black to black, white to white, and ground to ground or the mounting bracket). Take a photo of the old wiring before disconnecting—it helps if you need to reinstall later.
3. Attach the mounting bracket: The LIFX ceiling light comes with a metal bracket. Screw it into the junction box using the provided hardware. Ensure it is level and secure. If your junction box is recessed, use the included spacer washers to avoid a gap between the fixture and ceiling.
4. Connect the wiring: Match the LIFX wires to your house wires: black (line) to black, white (neutral) to white, and green/copper (ground) to the bracket or ground wire. Use wire nuts and tug gently to confirm each connection is tight. A loose neutral wire is the most common cause of flickering after installation—double-check it.
